DiskInternals Linux Reader

DiskInternals Linux Reader

Read Linux partitions on Windows

Description

You plug a dual-boot drive into a Windows machine and the Linux partitions either do not show up or ask to be formatted, while the files you need are sitting right there. DiskInternals Linux Reader is built for exactly that. It installs on Windows with an Explorer-like interface and lists every disk and partition in the system, no matter whether Windows or Linux created it.

Open a Linux partition and browse it like any folder, then save the files you want to a Windows drive. The data on the source partition stays untouched. If you would rather not work on the disk directly, create an image of the partition first and mount that instead.

Features

Linux file system access: Reads Ext2, Ext3 and other Linux partitions, and newer releases cover a wider list of file systems.

Explorer-style interface: Task pane on the left, file list on the right, with an address bar, so there is nothing new to learn.

File extraction: Select files or folders and save them to a Windows drive without changing anything on the Linux side.

Partition images: Create an image of any detected partition, or mount an existing image and open its contents.

Hex preview: Right-click a partition to view its hex content or properties, with every operation logged.
