Description
Live visuals, interactive installations and VJ sets often mean stopping to rerun after every code tweak, which you can't do on stage. Praxis LIVE puts visual patching and live code in one IDE: wire components together and keep editing while it runs, with the picture and sound uninterrupted.
It's open source, currently at version 6.7 (released July 2026) with a built-in code editor, aimed at creators of multimedia performances.
Patch-style building: Chain video, audio and graphics components with connectors, with every node's parameters in view.
Your own media: Load any number of audio and video files and adjust start and end points, speed and looping.
Built-in code editor: Write custom effects right in the IDE and mix them with visual nodes.
MIDI and OSC: Map MIDI controllers or OSC addresses to component parameters and drive visuals with knobs and faders.
Background processing: Heavy work runs in the background so the interface stays responsive.
