Description
You get an .h5 file and want to know how many groups and datasets it holds and how big each array is, but no text editor can open it.
HDFView is the official Java tool from The HDF Group for browsing and editing HDF4 and HDF5 files: a tree for the full hierarchy, a panel for the data and one for attributes and metadata.
Three panels: Tree lists groups, arrays, datatypes and links, Data shows the contents and Info shows status and metadata, all resizable.
Edit data: create files, add or delete groups and datasets, and modify dataset contents.
Attributes: add, delete and modify attributes.
Separate windows: each object opens in its own window so the screen does not get crowded.
