EclEmma

Eclipse code coverage plug-in

Description

You wrote a pile of tests, but do they actually run all your code? Guessing will not do; you need data. EclEmma is a code coverage plug-in for Eclipse that adds a Coverage launch mode next to Run and Debug, used the same way, with results shown right inside Eclipse.

The most useful part is source highlighting: lines fully run, partly run and not run at all are coloured in the code, so you do not hunt through reports. Data drills down to method level, and you can switch the measure to instructions, branches, lines, methods or types.

Features

Coverage launch mode: start from local Java applications, Eclipse, Equinox, Scala, and tests such as TestNG, JUnit and SWTBot.

Source highlighting: green, yellow and red mean full, partial and no coverage, so gaps in testing stand out.

Drill-down: from project to package, class and method.

Several measures: instructions, branches, lines, methods and types.

Requires Eclipse 3.8+ and Java 1.5+. Open source; the download here is the 3.1.12 package.
