Description
Laggy voice in the middle of a raid, half a sentence arriving after the other person is done talking, and no wish to hand your conversations to a commercial platform. Mumble is an open-source voice chat tool built for exactly that: low latency, high audio quality, and a setup you can run among friends, for podcasts, or for online meetings.
The first launch walks you through an audio wizard that tunes your microphone, speakers and headphones, so you are not hunting through settings. Inside a server you get a channel tree where you can see who sits in which room at a glance, type into the current channel or send a private message to one person. Host a server yourself or join a public one, with both light and dark themes available.
Low-latency voice: Tuned for real-time conversation, so several people can talk at once without falling out of sync.
Audio setup wizard: First run guides you through microphone, speaker and headphone tuning, and it works straight after.
Channel tree and private messages: Rooms are organised in a hierarchy; type in the channel or message a single member directly.
Self-hosted or public servers: A server installer is available too, so you can build a private channel or join an open one any time.
Light and dark themes: Switch the interface theme so long sessions stay easy on the eyes.
