Description
On a live shoot you want your own software to cut cameras, swap sources and run transitions, but the control protocol of an ATEM switcher is not publicly documented, so people end up sniffing packets and guessing. Blackmagic turned that into an SDK: a COM style interface lets your own program control an ATEM switcher directly, with no protocol guessing.
The current package is the ATEM Switchers 11.0 SDK, about 5.7 MB, which holds the interface itself plus API documentation, notes on the legacy API formats and debugging tools. Downloading needs registration on the Blackmagic site, so the link goes to the official download page and nothing is mirrored here.
COM style interface: connect to the switcher through a familiar component interface, read its state and send switching commands from your own program
API documentation: official docs explain how to call the interface and what each parameter means, so you do not have to experiment
Legacy API formats: notes on the older API formats, handy when upgrading an existing project
Debugging tools: tools for development that show what is passing between your program and the switcher
