LibreOffice SDK

LibreOffice SDK

LibreOffice development kit

Description

Generating Word documents in bulk, editing spreadsheets from your own program, or adding a custom import filter to LibreOffice: macros hit a ceiling quickly. The LibreOffice SDK is the front door. It gives you libraries, binaries, headers and IDL files, and through the UNO component model you call the same Office API that LibreOffice itself uses.

Language bindings exist for Java, Python, C++ and Basic, so office automation does not force you to learn a new language. The API is kept stable and only extended with new functions, so components written against an older version generally carry over. The kit also ships API reference documentation, a link to the Developer's Guide and example collections.
