OrientDB Community Edition
Multi-model document and graph database
Description
Joins start gasping around the fourth hop in a relational database, and a pure graph store means remodelling all your document data. OrientDB skips the either-or: one database holds documents with nested fields and also lets records act as vertices linked by edges, so a single SQL-style statement can walk several levels of relationships.
The bundled Studio web console is the quickest way in. Write a query in the browser, read the result as a table, or flip it into a draggable graph where you can see at a glance which vertex connects to which.
Documents and graphs together: Records can carry nested fields and schema constraints, and can also be linked through edges, so nothing has to be copied between two stores.
Familiar query syntax: The query language is SQL extended with graph traversal, and Gremlin is supported too, so SQL users do not start from zero.
Studio web console: Query auto-complete, bookmarked statements and history, results as a table or a graph, plus a graph editor for adding and removing vertices and edges.
Command-line console: A console program for creating databases, importing data, running queries and inspecting class and index statistics from the terminal.
Demo database included: A sample database ships with the package, so you can practice traversals right after install without building data first.
