Hugin

Hugin

Open source panorama stitcher

Description

Your phone's panorama mode drifts at the first shake, and there's no decent tool to join a dozen shots into one wide landscape. Hugin is open source panorama stitching software: drop your photos in and it automatically finds the overlapping points between neighbouring shots and aligns them, then blends everything into one seamless picture.

Where the alignment is off, add control points by hand; lens distortion, exposure differences and viewpoint can each be corrected separately. It outputs several projections — wide rectangular, cylindrical or full spherical — and works for stitching tiled scans of large drawings or paintings too.

Features

Automatic alignment: detects overlapping feature points between photos and matches position and angle.

Control point editing: add or remove control points where the stitch is inaccurate.

Lens and exposure correction: fixes distortion, vignetting and exposure differences between shots.

Multiple projections: outputs rectilinear, cylindrical, spherical and more.

Blended output: merges the aligned photos into a seamless panorama, or into layered files.
