Description
To play The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom on a PC, the usual answer is an emulator with unsteady frame rates and a pile of settings. TotK Recomp takes another road: it statically recompiles the game into a native x86-64 program, not emulation, running on Windows and Linux at 60 fps by default with a Vulkan renderer.
No game files are included. You need your own legally obtained files and updates from your own console, and the installer builds the game once on your machine; the result is for your own use only. It is in early development, playable but with visual bugs and crashes still expected. MIT licensed.
Native execution: Recompiled to native code, not emulated, on Windows 10 or later and Linux
Frame rate and image: 60 fps by default, up to 144 fps or the monitor refresh rate (experimental), custom resolutions, supersampling, AMD FSR 1 and HDR10 output
Screen shapes: 16:10 for Steam Deck and handhelds, 21:9 and 32:9 ultrawide, with camera and interface adapted
Versions: Game updates 1.1.0, 1.2.1 and 1.4.3; 1.2.1 and 1.4.3 saves carry over
Controls: Keyboard, mouse and gamepad with remapping, rumble and gyro, Xbox-style prompts
Mods and cheats: Emulator mods work from a mods folder, plus Atmosphère cheats
Shaders prepared at install: No shader stutter in play; about 36 GiB free during setup, 20 GiB afterwards
Languages: English, Russian, Brazilian Portuguese and Simplified Chinese
