3D Machine Teardown Simulator Skill

AIOfficial site

Description

Want to see how a four-stroke engine really fits together, or how landing gear folds away? Textbooks give you cutaway diagrams, videos make you ride along, and going back to one part means dragging a scrubber. teardown is a Claude Code skill: ask in plain words how something works and it builds a 3D simulator you can take apart.

The result is one fully offline HTML page. The machine runs in the middle, the panels around it read live numbers, a button lights up the part doing the work, and when nobody touches it the page tours itself.

Features

One sentence to a simulator: Ask for a 4-stroke motorcycle engine or how a mechanical watch keeps time, and Claude builds the whole machine from the skill's rules, no three.js work on your side.

Panels with real numbers: The V8 example shows chamber pressure, valve timing curves, an indicator diagram and the firing order, and they move as you change engine speed.

Cut it open: Glass, section and solid cutaways, plus callouts, arrows and exploded views, so you can isolate any single part.

Three finished machines: A V8, the Cessna 337 landing gear and a Strandbeest, each bundled into a single HTML file with node sims/build.mjs.

Record it: Render the tour frame by frame to a 60 fps mp4 with procedural sound, which needs ffmpeg and Python 3.

Install: npx skills add elvarofficial/teardown -g -a claude-code, then install the dependencies and Chromium once in the folder. Node.js 20 or newer.
