Description
Writing your own viewer or editor means dealing with RAW: Canon, Nikon and Sony each have their own format, and every new camera needs another round of support. LibRaw is a ready-made C/C++ library that absorbs that work so your program just gets the result.
It extracts raw pixel data, shooting metadata (geometry, Bayer pattern, black level, white balance) and the embedded preview, covers more than 800 cameras, and understands the common formats such as NEF, CR2, RAF and DNG. It suits RAW viewers, converters, panorama stitchers and image stacking.
Raw data access: pixels, metadata and thumbnails come out together, with no need to parse each vendor's private format.
Basic processing: built-in de-Bayer interpolation, noise reduction, white balance and aberration and distortion correction for simple conversions.
Multithreaded batches: process a whole folder of RAW files in one go.
Samples included: C++ examples to follow when integrating.
This entry hosts the 64-bit Windows package of 0.22.3. It is a developer library, not an app with a window.
