FBackup

Hard drives fail without warning, and a lost document, photo or work file is gone for good, while copying things to an external disk by hand gets forgotten eight times out of ten. FBackup is a free backup tool: set once what to back up, where to put it and how often, then let it run on its own.

The interface borrows the ribbon look of Office, and everything is listed as a backup job: banking data, online backups, multimedia, documents, emails and contacts, each with Backup, Test and Restore on the right. Before restoring you can test a backup first and make sure the file is sound.

Features

Backup jobs: Combine what to back up and where it goes into a job, with its status and last backup date in the list.

Compressed or identical copy: Pack a backup into a single compressed file, or keep an exact copy of the source files.

Scheduler and filters: Job properties include a scheduler and file filters, so backups run on time and only take what you need.

Many destinations: Back up to removable drives, or to online storage such as Google Drive and Dropbox.

Test and restore: Test a finished backup before restoring it, so a damaged backup does not go unnoticed.
