Description
Want to know whether anything moves at home or in the shop without buying a whole recorder? A PC, a few cameras and ContaCam make a surveillance system: several feeds on one screen, and it notices on its own when something passes in front of one of them.
The most useful part is motion detection. It watches each feed for changes and, when triggered, can record, upload over FTP, send e-mail notifications, or launch an external program of your choice. When you are away there is still a record and an alert.
Many cameras on one screen: Local webcams and network cameras on your LAN can run side by side, each with its own resolution and frame rate readout.
Recording and motion detection: Recording starts when the picture changes, and the follow-up can be an upload, an e-mail or an external program.
Built-in web server: A password-protected web service lets you watch live video remotely over the network.
Image adjustment: Rotate, resize and flip the live view, tune brightness and contrast, or apply grayscale, negative, sharpen and soften effects.
Picture handling: Gather images into a slideshow, scan to TIFF or PDF, or attach them straight to an e-mail.
