Description
The full codec pack has everything, but maybe you only want the computer to play MP4, AVI and common audio without pushing dozens of components into the system. StarCodec Lite is the slimmed down edition from the same maker: just the most used codecs and filters, so the install is small and the system stays tidy.
The components are LAV, AC3, XviD, MP3, OGG, AAC, VS filters, MP4 Splitter and DivFix++, which together cover most everyday formats. The wizard lets you tick which components to install and where, choose mono or stereo audio output and set the level of video post processing. Note that it has no scan for codecs already on the machine, so if another codec pack is installed, check before installing to avoid conflicts.
