Description
The Uninstall button for Edge is greyed out in Settings, it is missing from the Control Panel, and a Windows update tends to quietly put it back anyway. If you want the browser gone, the built-in routes are mostly closed.
Edge Remover is a single-file tool of about 160 KB. Run it and a dialog offers three plain choices: remove Edge together with the WebView2 runtime, remove the browser only and keep WebView2, or cancel. There is nothing to install and nothing to configure.
One thing to weigh before you click: plenty of apps, such as Teams, some Office components and Electron-style shells, draw their UI through WebView2. If you still use any of them, "browser only" is the safer pick. It touches system components directly, so make a restore point first.
One-click Edge removal: Skips the greyed-out Settings entry and takes the browser out of the system directly.
Optional WebView2 keep: A separate "browser only" choice leaves WebView2 in place for the apps that rely on it.
Single file, no install: One exe you can run from anywhere and delete afterwards, leaving nothing behind.
Needs administrator rights: It changes system components, so it asks for elevation. Approve it only once you are sure you want this.
