Description
Avast refusing to uninstall is an old story: Control Panel throws an error, or it reports success while the tray icon is still there and the next antivirus complains that Avast was detected. Avast Clear is the official removal tool for exactly that case. It bypasses the regular uninstaller and wipes the program folder, data folder, registry entries, services and drivers in one go.
The whole interface is one screen: two paths for the program and data directories (leave them if unsure), an edition drop-down and an Uninstall button. On launch it suggests rebooting into Safe Mode first, where Avast's self protection cannot block it and the cleanup is more thorough; running in normal mode works too if you are in a hurry.
