Description
Pre-roll video ads, corner pop-ups, fake buttons that redirect on one click: Opera picks them all up sooner or later. With Adblock Plus installed, every page you open goes through a set of filters first, and matching ads, banners and tracking elements simply never load, so pages get lighter too.
You decide what gets blocked. It ships with filter list subscriptions chosen by language, lets you add your own, and a site you want to leave alone goes on the whitelist. A small set of "acceptable ads" is allowed by default and can be switched off in settings.
Filter subscriptions: preset lists per language, stackable with custom ones; too many lists slow browsing, so keep only what you need.
Whitelist: let trusted sites through in one click so small sites that live on ads are not hit by accident.
Block element: click anything that slipped past, such as a banner or overlay, to hide it.
Per-page counter: the toolbar popup shows how many items were blocked on this page and in total.
Acceptable ads toggle: unobtrusive ads are allowed by default; turn it off to block everything.
