Description
AdGuard for Chrome is an ad-blocking extension. Once installed, banners, popups, pre-roll video ads and tracking scripts are stopped while the page is still loading, which leaves pages both faster and considerably tidier.
It does more than hide ad slots: requests are blocked outright according to filter rules, which takes third-party trackers and some phishing sites out along with them. Filter lists can be switched on and off individually, a site that breaks under blocking can be allowlisted on its own, and you can write rules yourself. Note that this browser extension is the free product — the desktop application is the paid one.
Ad blocking: Banners, popups, pre-roll video and in-page promotions are stopped at the request stage rather than hidden after loading.
Anti-tracking: Third-party analytics and tracking scripts are blocked, tracking parameters can be stripped from URLs, and do-not-track signals are sent on your behalf.
Selectable filter lists: Several rule sets ship with it, including ones aimed at Chinese sites, and each can be toggled; custom rules are supported too.
