Zed

Zed

High-performance collaborative code editor

Description

Built by the team behind Atom and Tree-sitter, Zed aimed for speed from day one: written from scratch in Rust with a GPU-rendered UI that fully uses multiple cores and the GPU, so opening, scrolling and typing feel nearly latency-free.

It has built-in real-time collaboration to edit with teammates, share your screen and project, and it bakes an AI assistant and agents into the editor, running agents in parallel to edit code. Language servers are integrated natively for out-of-the-box completion, go-to and diagnostics. Native macOS, open source and free.
