Summoning a search box with one hotkey, opening apps in two keystrokes, flipping through clipboard history — many people get that from Raycast or Alfred, but those are either Electron and heavy on RAM or gate their advanced features behind a subscription. A version that feels the same without the weight is a short list.
Tinycast is the fully native one. Built with SwiftUI and AppKit, zero third-party dependencies, no Electron, and under 100 MB of RAM: a global hotkey brings up a command palette where apps, commands, calculation, unit conversion and emoji all search in one field, chosen by arrow keys and Enter. Fuzzy search, favourites and per-app hotkeys are all there.
Clipboard history is the other half: copied text, images and links are kept and recalled with a shortcut, with a preview and source pane on the right, so copying the next thing does not lose the last. And it runs real Raycast extensions, rendered as native SwiftUI rather than wrapped in a web view.
No telemetry, no network calls, free and open source (AGPL). Requires macOS 15 or later.
