yabbistir

Keyboard-first Clipboard History

Description

You copy a pile of things, then break your flow switching to a clipboard window and hunting with the mouse. yabbistir opens its history panel right under your text caret: press ⇧⌘V, type to search, hit Return to paste into the app you were in, hands never leaving the keyboard.

It's extensible too: small JavaScript extensions recognize what you copy, such as decoding a JWT or stripping tracking parameters from a link, and each one tells you up front whether it reaches websites or runs a program. Free and open source, nothing leaves your Mac and there's no telemetry. It needs macOS 26 or later on Apple silicon.

Features

Panel under the caret: Opens just below the caret; type to search, ↑↓ to move, Return to paste and ⌘1–⌘9 for the first nine, without covering what you're writing.

Paste stack: Copy several things in a row with ⇧⌘C, then paste them in order with ⌘V, one at a time; drag to reorder.

Transforms: Tap ⇧ on an item to see what you can do: Base64, color to RGB or OKLCH, convert an image or read its text. Return still pastes it as is.

Categories and extensions: File items into categories that open as their own column; the extension store is an open repository and you can write your own from a template.

Stays quiet: Just a menu bar icon, no Dock icon, one line per row with details on demand.
