Sometimes you just want to play a song, and the player insists on scanning your whole library, pushing online content and popping up settings, using more memory than the track itself.
PsyMP3 goes the other way: a small window with a colorful live spectrum dancing on black, the artist, title, album and progress underneath, and nothing else. Play, pause, skip and volume all live on the keyboard, so you open it and listen.
It's free and open source, needs no installation, and runs from a USB stick without touching the registry.
Formats: plays MP3, OGG, FLAC, WMA, ASF and other common audio formats.
Playlists: M3U / M3U8 support, showing the current track number and total.
Live spectrum: the whole window is a spectrum analyzer, shading from low to high frequencies as the music plays.
Keyboard control: shortcuts for playback, volume, shuffle and repeat, no hunting for buttons.
