Description
Ask an AI for a 3D model and you usually get a mesh you can't edit: off by a millimetre and you start over. SolidCraft is an open-source parametric CAD in pure Rust with a built-in MCP server, so the assistant works on an editable parametric feature timeline; change one dimension and the whole model rebuilds.
The desktop app, the browser app and the CLI run the same commands, so whatever the AI builds you can open and keep editing. It's early but usable for simple parts: of 76 public reference parts, 75 match their computed volume, area, centre of mass and bounding box. Licensed Apache-2.0.
Connect an AI: `solidcraft-cli mcp` is an MCP server, one command to add it to Claude Code; with --connect the AI drives the running app so you can watch it model.
Sketches and constraints: Lines, arcs, splines and text, with its own constraint solver and parameter-driven dimensions.
Feature modeling: Extrude, revolve, sweep, loft, fillet, chamfer, shell, draft, holes, threads, patterns and mirror on an editable timeline.
Assemblies and sheet metal: Joints, motion studies, interference checks and mass properties; flanges, hems and flat patterns for sheet metal.
File formats: STEP, IGES, 3MF, STL, OBJ and glTF in and out, with designs saved as .sc files.
Runs everywhere: Desktop on Windows, macOS and Linux, or try it right in the browser.
