Description
Annotating a screenshot with a couple of arrows should not mean installing a hundred-megabyte Electron app that sits on hundreds of megabytes of RAM. AirSnip is a Windows screenshot annotator written in Rust: a single 1.21 MB exe, about 1.2 MB of resident memory and 0% CPU on standby.
Press F1 to freeze the screen and drag a region, and one toolbar row holds every annotation tool; double-click the selection to copy and finish. It also pins screenshots, takes long screenshots and saves several formats. Rendering is pure CPU with no GPU needed, so it stays smooth on integrated graphics, VMs and remote desktops, and everything is processed locally with no network access or telemetry.
Six annotation tools:rectangle (with rounded corners), straight or curved arrow, text, highlighter, Gaussian blur and spotlight.
Re-editable:select any annotation to move or resize it, change color and width live, with 100 steps of undo and redo.
Precise selection:eight-way resize, hold space to drag, arrow keys for 1 px nudges, and correct multi-monitor handling.
No install:a portable single exe; delete it to uninstall, autostart uses Task Scheduler and nothing touches the registry.
