PixWit

PixWit

Free open source screenshot and recorder

Description

One tool to capture, another to annotate, a third to record the screen and yet another OCR tool to pull text out of an image. PixWit puts them together: press F1 to select a region, mark it up with pen, arrows, mosaic and text, and every shot lands in a browsable history.

It can also recognise the text in a screenshot in one click, pin shots to the desktop as sticky notes, and record the screen with pause and resume, system audio plus microphone, and basic trimming afterwards. Free and open source, with a portable Windows build.

Features

Multi-monitor capture: F1 captures on whichever screen you are on, even with mixed DPI.

Annotation tools: pen, line, arrow, circle, rectangle, mosaic and text, right after capture.

Screenshot history: every capture is saved and browsable from the tray.

OCR and translation: offline text recognition copied to the clipboard, plus table extraction.

Pinned notes: pin a screenshot to the desktop, movable and resizable.

Recording and trimming: pause and resume, two audio sources, basic editing afterwards.
