IObit Software Updater

IObit Software Updater

One click updates for outdated apps

Description

A PC with dozens of programs and nobody remembers which one needs an update: 7-Zip, Chrome and WPS each want a trip to a vendor site, half an hour disappears, and skipping it leaves security holes open. IObit Software Updater scans your installed programs, lists the outdated ones in one table with the new and current version side by side, and you tick what to update and press Update to download and install it automatically.

Installers come only from official releases with no bundled extras, leftover setup files are cleaned afterwards, and a restore point is created before each update in case something breaks. The free edition keeps one click updates, setup file cleanup and automatic restore points, but limits batch updates to 2 per day; Pro unlocks unlimited batch updates, automatic updates and scheduling. For clearing out stale programs now and then, free is enough.

Features

Outdated software list: scans installed programs and separates the ones that need updates from the up to date ones, with the new and current version shown for each

One click updates: tick several programs and update them in a batch instead of hunting for installers one by one, with a 2 per day batch limit on the free edition

1,100+ app library: a built in catalog of over 1,100 popular apps, so you can also find and install official versions from inside the tool

Official sources, clean installs: uses official installers with no bundles and deletes leftover setup files after the update

Restore point before updates: creates a system restore point before each update so a bad release can be rolled back

Security patching: known flaws in outdated software are closed through updates, and Pro can auto update as soon as a new release appears and run on a schedule
