Description
You boot into WinPE and find there is no network driver and the screen is stuck at a low resolution, so you cannot go online or maintain a machine remotely, and hunting for inf files one by one is slow and easy to get wrong. Drvinstall is built for that moment: it reads each device hardware ID, picks the matching driver straight out of your driver pack and installs in parallel, in PE or on a normal desktop.
It ships no drivers of its own, so you bring a pack, whether that is vendor downloads, a universal driver bundle, drivers backed up from an installed system or your own collection. Packs do not need unpacking first, since 7Z, ZIP, CAB, RAR, WIM, ESD and ISO are all read directly. With no pack at hand it can scan Windows installations on the local disks and borrow their driver stores, newest version first. After a wireless adapter driver goes in it reads the Wi-Fi passwords saved in the offline system and connects by itself. The author publishes and updates it on the Wuyou boot forum, and the sidebar adds small tools such as Wi-Fi backup, AES encryption and a hardware ID viewer.
Multithreaded install: extracts and installs drivers concurrently, which keeps it quick even in a resource-limited PE
Live hardware ID matching: no prebuilt driver index to maintain, because drivers are looked up by device hardware ID on the spot
Several driver sources: automatically finds packs in the program folder and its subfolders, accepts a path you pick, or scans the driver store of Windows installs on local disks
Wide archive support: 7Z, ZIP, CAB, RAR, WIM, ESD and ISO without unpacking first
Wi-Fi auto connect: after the wireless driver is installed it reads saved credentials from the offline system and joins the network for remote maintenance in PE
Import, remove, migrate and back up drivers: command line switches handle offline systems, with filters for network, display, audio, Bluetooth and disk classes
Silent unattended mode: run with parameters to minimize the window or go fully silent so it can sit in a PE startup sequence
Encrypted pack password: for password protected packs, an AES ciphertext can replace the plain password in the arguments so sharing a script does not leak it
