Description
CrySiS ransomware has renamed and encrypted an entire disk of files, and paying looks like the only way out. Avast's free decryptor offers a third path: let it try to restore the files first, then decide whether anything else is needed.
It uses Avast's All-In-One decryption wizard, version 1.0.840, about 2.8 MB, a single program with no installation. It opens on a ransomware detection page that lets you name the ransomware that encrypted your data, then Next shows the supported decryptors. The file is hosted on Avast's decryptor CDN and mirrored here, so it runs straight after download.
Detection wizard:The opening detection page helps you match the ransomware before going on.
Manual choice:Name the kind of ransomware that encrypted your data yourself.
No installation:A single program that runs once downloaded.
Free:Provided by Avast at no charge.
