Description
A red warning window pops up saying your files are encrypted, asks you to pay from a phone or laptop, and starts deleting files about two hours later. With NoobCrypt, time matters more than the ransom. Avast built a free decryptor for it, so hold off on paying.
It works as a wizard: pick the infected local drives, local folders or network drives and it starts decrypting. Before it touches anything you can make a backup of the encrypted files, so the originals survive if something goes wrong.
Wizard workflow: Every step is prompted, with no cryptography knowledge or command line needed.
Three kinds of locations: Local drives, local folders and network drives can all be added, several at a time.
Backup before decrypting: Copy the encrypted files first so you can roll back if needed.
Single file, no install: One exe that runs on double-click and installs nothing.
