Description
The hardest part of learning C is pointers and memory: where a variable really lives, what happens on the stack during a call, and a textbook gives you one static picture you can never watch. Virtual-C IDE is a C development environment built for teaching: write, compile and run in one window, with a memory segments panel beside it that updates the stack, heap and global data as the program steps along.
It deliberately has no code completion, so beginners get the syntax into their fingers. Debugging offers single-stepping and expression watches, and a built-in step-by-step tutorial with example programs takes you from Hello World onward. Syntax highlighting, line numbers, a C compiler and a linker are all integrated, ready to use and free.
Memory visualization:Shows the stack, heap, constants and globals live, so you see how variables and calls use memory.
Step debugging:Run line by line, set breakpoints and watch expressions as values change.
Integrated toolchain:A bundled C compiler and linker, with no environment to set up.
Editor:Syntax highlighting and line numbers, with code completion left out on purpose to help beginners learn the syntax.
Built-in tutorial:A step-by-step introduction and example programs you can open and run directly.
