Description
Once you have Everything installed, the built-in Windows search is unusable — but finding a file still means switching windows and summoning Everything first. It is a small motion repeated dozens of times a day, and it adds up.
EverythingToolbar removes that step. It takes over the taskbar search box, so pressing the magnifier next to Start, or your own global hotkey, brings up Everything results that appear from the first keystroke. It talks to Everything over IPC and reuses the index that already exists, so nothing is scanned twice and no extra memory is spent, while wildcards, path filters and regular expressions all keep working.
On Windows 10 it embeds as a deskband; on Windows 11 it appears either as a pinned icon or as a search box, and it follows the system light and dark theme. MIT licensed, 14k stars.
