Dozens of accounts end up with either one password reused everywhere or a list in sticky notes and a spreadsheet — both fail catastrophically at once. KeePassXC offers another route: every password lives in one encrypted local database behind a single master password, and that database is never sent to any server.

Encrypted local database: passwords sit in a kdbx file encrypted with AES-256 and similar algorithms, and where that file lives — and whether it is backed up to a cloud drive — is entirely your call.
Master password plus key file: a key file or a hardware key such as a YubiKey can be required alongside the master password, so a leaked password alone will not open it.
Password generator: generate strong random passwords by length and character set, one per site, ending reuse.
Browser integration: the official extension fills credentials in the browser instead of copy-and-paste.
More than passwords: it also stores TOTP two-factor codes, attachments, card and document details, and imports from other password managers.
