You install Adobe Reader to read one contract and end up with two extra background services, a three second spinner on a twenty page PDF and a subscription ad parked in the corner. Foxit PDF Reader is the light version of the same job: quick to start, tabs for several files, smooth scrolling, and no crowd of resident processes left behind.
It does more than view. Highlight text, add sticky notes, draw shape annotations, or use typewriter mode to type straight onto a scan; forms can be filled and saved, and signatures can be drawn or imported as an image. The ribbon groups tools by comment, form, protect and share, so nothing hides in a menu.
