streamCapture2

streamCapture2 is a graphical front end for svtplay-dl. The underlying command line tool downloads programmes from streaming sites as local files, but it means remembering a pile of switches; streamCapture2 turns those into buttons and dropdowns — paste a URL, hit search, pick a quality, download, and that is the whole flow.

It targets the on-demand sites of several Nordic public broadcasters and supports a number of other providers as well. After a search it lists every available bitrate, codec, resolution and audio track so you can choose, or let it take the best one by default. Whole seasons and subtitles are handled too. Builds exist for Windows and Linux, and the Windows one also comes without an installer.

Quality selection: Every bitrate, codec and resolution is listed so you can pick a specific one, or leave it to choose the highest automatically.

Batch downloads: Several links can be queued in a download list, and a full season can be fetched in one go.

Subtitles: Any subtitle files the programme carries are retrieved alongside the video.

Portable build: The Windows version is available without an installer — unpack and run, with nothing written to the registry.
