Antivirus software is the hardest kind to uninstall cleanly: you remove it from Control Panel, reboot, and the services and drivers are still there along with a pile of registry leftovers — after which installing a competing security product starts throwing conflicts, or refuses outright. Norton publishes a dedicated tool for this. The Norton 360 Remover strips Norton products along with their services, drivers and registry entries rather than going through the ordinary uninstaller.
It offers two modes: remove the current version and automatically reinstall the latest one, which is the repair path when an installation has gone wrong; or remove only, for when you are switching to another security product or done with it entirely. Norton notes explicitly that uninstalling the application does not cancel your subscription — that is handled separately in your account.
