Description
If your PC is stuck on Windows 7, Vista or even XP, mainstream browsers stopped updating long ago: more pages fail to load and security gets worse. Supermium is a Chromium-based browser fork that runs on Windows XP, 2003, Vista, 7, 8.x and newer while still tracking upstream security patches.
According to the project, patches for major vulnerabilities usually follow upstream disclosure within a week, and a working sandbox is kept. It also brings back things older-system users miss: Aero glass title bars, GDI font rendering, trapezoidal tabs and Manifest V2 extension support.
Old-system friendly: Works on XP, 2003, Vista, 7 and 8.x, and the 32-bit build even supports SSE2-only CPUs.
Prompt security updates: Major vulnerability patches usually follow upstream within a week, with a functional sandbox.
Adjustable look: Aero glass-style title bars, trapezoidal, transparent or outlined tabs, and forced dark mode.
Extensions and sync: Manifest V2 extensions and Google Sync, plus Widevine for DRM content on Windows 7 and up.
Flags from ungoogled-chromium: Many of its switches are included.
