Description
Dozens of tabs for work, study and leisure end up crammed in one tab strip, so finding a page means scrolling from end to end, and reading a document beside your notes means dragging out two windows and arranging them by hand. Floorp is an open-source browser built on Firefox by a team in Japan, and it builds workspaces, split view and sidebar web panels right into the browser, so tabs can be grouped by task from the start.
It keeps the Firefox engine and extension ecosystem, so privacy and compatibility match Firefox, while the interface and behavior can be reshaped to your habits. Tabs in one workspace stay out of the way of others, and each workspace can have its own container. Split view shows up to 4 pages at once, favorite sites can be pinned to the sidebar as small panels, and there are mouse gestures and a way to run a website as a standalone app window. Versions are available for Windows, macOS and Linux under the MPL 2.0 license.
Workspaces: group tabs by task or scene and see only the current workspace tabs when you switch, with an optional Firefox container per workspace
Split view: show up to 4 pages side by side in one window, handy for reference while writing without switching back and forth
Sidebar web panels: pin frequently visited sites to the sidebar and open them any time without using a main tab
Mouse gestures: hold and move the mouse to go back, forward, close or open tabs, with gestures you can customize
UI customization: the toolbar, tab bar position, sidebar and many appearance options can be adjusted to taste
Web apps: run a site in its own window and use it like a native app instead of burying it among other tabs
Firefox extension compatible: uses the Firefox add-on store and privacy protections, so your existing extensions work
