Description
You are on the couch and want to fix a file on your Mac from an iPad, but ordinary remote desktops stutter on every drag and typing feels like it goes through a layer of glass. Glass is built like a game stream: hardware H.264 sent as QUIC datagrams so a lost packet never holds up a newer frame, with about 20 ms of delay.
The viewing side needs nothing installed: open a browser on an iPad, phone or laptop. On the macOS or Linux (Wayland) computer you want to control, run one install command and scan the QR code, with no account to create. Free and open source under MIT, written in Rust, connected over Tailscale.
Feels local:hardware encode and decode, no jitter buffer, up to 120 fps and Display P3 color.
Sharp text mode:native size while things move and a lossless full-color picture when still, good for code and documents.
Many displays:switch screens from live previews or show them all side by side.
Second display:turn an iPad or laptop into another Retina display for the Mac, like Sidecar without installing anything.
Full control:mouse, trackpad, keyboard, touch and pinch zoom, plus Apple Pencil pressure and tilt on iPad.
