Ironsmith

Ironsmith

Describe it and get a native Mac app

Description

You want a tiny tool that renames screenshots by date, or one that splits a PDF into single pages. Searching turns up bloated suites, and writing it yourself means installing gigabytes of Xcode first. Ironsmith sits in the menu bar: tell it what you want, and it generates, builds and saves a native SwiftUI app you can launch right away.

It compiles with the lightweight command line tools instead of full Xcode, and every generated app is sandboxed by default, with camera and microphone access off until you switch them on. Point it at a local model through Ollama, LM Studio or llama.cpp, bring your own OpenAI, Anthropic or Gemini key, or hand bigger projects to Codex.

Features

One sentence, one app: describe the need and get a buildable Mac app you can reopen and keep editing.

Local and cloud models: Ollama works out of the box, any OpenAI-compatible server plugs in, and hosted models are available through sign-in.

Export to Applications: finished apps drop into your Applications folder and behave like any other Mac software.

Store and remixing: every app in the built-in store shows its source and can be remixed, and Auto Remix hunts for a close match to start from.

Sandboxed by default: generated apps are signed with the sandbox and hardened runtime, which limits the damage from bugs or mistakes.
