Gas

Gas

Menu Bar AI Usage Monitor

Description

Few things spoil a coding session like Claude or Codex announcing you're out of quota halfway through. Gas puts the remaining quota of Claude, OpenAI (Codex / ChatGPT) and Grok in the macOS menu bar, so a glance tells you where you stand without opening each provider's usage page.

It reads the sign-ins already on your Mac from Claude Code, Codex CLI and Grok CLI, read-only, with no analytics or telemetry. Note that it's unofficial and relies on undocumented endpoints, so a provider change can break it until it's updated.

Features

Menu bar percentages: Each provider's remaining quota sits in the menu bar; open it for every limit's percent and reset time.

Several limits: The 5-hour session limit, the weekly limit, and per-model weekly limits.

Floating panel: A small always-on-top strip you can drag, flip between vertical and horizontal, and split into separate session and weekly bars.

Alerts: A warning and a critical level at 65% and 85% by default, both adjustable, and a switch between showing remaining or used.

Setup and diagnostics: If a CLI is missing, a setup window installs it and opens the sign-in page; you can also copy a diagnostics report with no tokens in it.
