Description
You download an unsigned Mac app, double-click it and get "the application is damaged and can't be opened", and every fix online tells you to type an xattr command in Terminal. Peck is a menu bar tool: drag the app onto it and it checks the quarantine flag and code-signing status first, then tries to open the app after you confirm.
It does what xattr -rd com.apple.quarantine does, only in a GUI, so there is no path to remember and nothing to mistype. It is written in Go with Viva, with a native interface and no WebView.
Drag to inspect: Drop a .app on the menu bar icon and it first shows the quarantine and signing status.
Confirm first: The quarantine flag is only removed and the app only opened after you approve.
Small and native: Built with Go and Viva, no embedded browser.
Builds: dmg and zip packages for both Intel and Apple silicon.
