Description
Native macOS Spaces make you wait for the slide animation, and apps end up scattered over desktops you have to flip through. FlashSpace takes another route: it doesn't switch real desktops, it defines virtual workspaces and shows the workspace's apps while hiding the rest, instantly and with no animation.
Each workspace can be bound to a display, and every screen switches on its own. Keep all your apps in one native Space and let FlashSpace do the rest. It needs macOS 14 or later and installs through Homebrew.
Hotkey switching: a hotkey per workspace, plus an Option + Tab switcher that behaves like Cmd + Tab.
Space Control: preview every workspace on a grid and jump with number or arrow keys.
Multiple displays: one workspace per screen, with a dynamic assignment mode.
Floating apps: keep chosen apps visible in every workspace, or add one app to several.
Focus and cursor: move focus between apps by keyboard, auto center the cursor in the active window, and activate a workspace when its app gets focus.
Profiles: swap whole configurations, with a menu bar icon and text per workspace.
Gestures and CLI: custom trackpad swipes, a command line interface, JSON, YAML or TOML config, and SketchyBar and Raycast integrations.
