SqlDbAid

SqlDbAid

SQL Server database compare tool

Description

What actually differs between the test database and production? Did the table structure change, does the data match? Flipping through tables by eye is slow and misses things. SqlDbAid is a small SQL Server tool that puts two databases side by side once you connect.

It is portable with no installer: unzip it anywhere on the disk or on a USB stick, double-click to run, and it writes nothing to the registry. It only needs SQL Server and the .NET Framework on the machine.

Features

Connect to a server: enter the address, user name and password, then pick a database to see each table's name, type, schema, modified date and description.

Browse and search: search objects, refresh, and export the list to a file.

Script generation: export database objects as scripts for migration or archiving.

Database comparison: check whether two databases hold identical content and find the differences.
