Description
A .NET app that needs MySQL should not depend on a hand-rolled protocol or a random third-party package. The official driver is the safe default.
MySQL Connector/NET is the official ADO.NET data provider, written entirely in C# with no MySQL client library underneath. It works from .NET, .NET Core and .NET Framework in any language, with Entity Framework Core and Visual Studio integration.
Standard ADO.NET: plugs into ADO.NET-aware tools and ORMs directly.
Database operations: run queries, create tables, views and triggers, and manage procedures and functions.
Large data and encryption: blob values up to 2GB and TLS-encrypted connections.
X protocol: supports MySQL X protocol. Source and packages are also on GitHub and NuGet.
