Tableau Reader
Free viewer for interactive Tableau workbooks
Description
A colleague sends a .twbx file, you have no Tableau Desktop, and the only option is to ask for screenshots or a PDF, which throw away every filter and drill-down. Tableau Reader is the official free viewer made for exactly these workbooks.
It keeps the data interactive: filters, sort order and thresholds all still work and the charts respond live. The trade-off is that it is read-only, so no changing the data source and no editing charts.
The person who built the dashboard packs it as a TWBX, and anyone with this installed can explore it alone instead of asking for yet another screenshot.
Open TWBX workbooks: Built for packaged Tableau workbooks, view only.
Interactive filters: A few clicks narrow the data and the charts update at once.
Sorting and thresholds: Switch sort methods and change thresholds to see the effect on the graphs.
Read-only: The data source cannot be changed, so a dashboard you received cannot be damaged by accident.
