Description
For PC gaming, the first step is usually installing Steam: buying, downloading, updating, cloud saves and playing with friends all live in one client, so you stop hunting for installers on each publisher site.
After signing in you land on the Library with all your games; open one to see achievements, developer news and community content. The Store tab shows new releases and sales. Beyond being a launcher it ships a full set of community features: forums, per-game discussion hubs, Workshop, interest groups, and a profile page where you can showcase games, write a bio and pick a background.
Game library: Every game in one place, with each title page pulling together achievements, developer news and community content.
Store and sales: Browse new releases and deals in the client, and read gameplay details, requirements and user reviews before buying.
Community and Workshop: Forums, discussion hubs, artwork and mods shared by players, and groups for people with the same interests.
Profiles: Show off your games, write a description and customise the background; that is what others see when they open your page in multiplayer.
Small installer: The SteamSetup download is just over 2 MB and pulls the full client after it runs.
