AutoHideDesktopIcons

AutoHideDesktopIcons

Auto hide desktop icons tool

Description

You finally picked a wallpaper you like, then a few dozen icons pile over it and all you see is file names. Hiding them means right click, View, untick Show desktop icons, every single time. AutoHideDesktopIcons hands that chore to a timer: leave the desktop alone for a few seconds and the icons hide themselves, then a click on the desktop brings them back.

The program is tiny, needs no installation and runs from wherever you put it, with an option to sit in the system tray. You choose whether the left, middle or right mouse button or the desktop context menu reveals the icons, you can hide the taskbar too, and one checkbox turns it off. If you dislike it, just delete the file.

Features

Timed auto hide: hide the desktop icons after a set number of idle seconds, with an adjustable interval

Click to bring icons back: choose the left, middle or right button on the desktop, or the desktop context menu, to show the icons again

Hide the taskbar: optional, so the taskbar hides and shows along with the icons and more of the wallpaper is visible

Hide permanently: a checkbox keeps the desktop icons hidden for good, for anyone who only wants a clean wallpaper

Startup and tray: start with Windows, start minimized to the tray, or keep the window always on top

Portable and multilingual: a portable freeware program with many interface languages including Simplified Chinese, and very low CPU use
