Description
You want mail on your own domain without handing every message to a third-party host, and a Windows server has nothing ready for that. MailEnable Standard bundles POP3, SMTP and webmail: install it, create a post office in the admin console, add a domain, open some mailboxes, and staff can read mail in Outlook or a browser.
The server-side protections come with it: relay control, IP blocking, blacklists and whitelists, spam filtering and several authentication methods, so most junk is stopped and the box cannot be used as an open relay. The webmail includes contacts, calendar, tasks and free/busy, which is enough for a small team without buying a groupware suite. The Standard edition is free and suits small to medium use; move up when you need more capacity or clustering.
Mail delivery:Built-in POP3 and SMTP services that any mail client can connect to.
Webmail:Send and receive in the browser, with contacts, calendar, tasks and free/busy.
Post offices and domains:Create post offices, add domains and open mailboxes from the admin console, with several domains on one server.
Relay and IP blocking:Limit who may relay through the server and block suspicious addresses so it never becomes a spam relay.
Spam handling:Blacklists, whitelists and filtering rules keep junk out of the inbox.
Authentication options:Several login and sending authentication methods to suit different clients.
System monitoring:The console shows service status and system messages so problems are easy to locate.
