WordPress

Open-source website and blog platform

Description

When you want a website but do not want to build front and back end from scratch, WordPress is usually the answer. A large share of the web runs on it: personal blogs, company sites, shops and portfolios, mostly assembled from ready themes and plugins with no code.

It ships the visual Gutenberg block editor for drag-and-drop layout; tens of thousands of themes set the look and tens of thousands of plugins add features (forms, SEO, stores, memberships). Self-host it on your own server and you fully control the data and the site. GPL open source, free to use.
